Celebrate Heart Health Month
American Heart Month is our nation’s annual reminder to take care of the most important and perhaps most neglected organ in the human body. My friends over at Shaklee believe that a heart-healthy diet and lifestyle should be a year-round, life-long effort, this month, next month and always. And it’s not too late to start taking better care of your heart, or helping someone else do the same.
Although we can’t change some risk factors, such as age and heredity, many factors—including cholesterol, …

Happy New Year to everyone!
Even though everyday is a new beginning, the new year is normally more significant to most. Fresh starts, changes, new ideas, dreams and more and initiated at the beginning of each new year.
A change in lifestyle and diet are often at the top of many of the New Year’s resolution lists. But, with that resolution, one needs a plan. Without a plan, many will have trouble in knowing where to start and how to succeed.
Shaklee is offering a solution for this problem with a first-ever offer …

What are you doing to feel well and maintain good health? Are you making informed decisions about the types of foods that you eat and the nutritional supplements that you take?
For me personally, I was forced to research nutritional supplements about 5 years ago, for my health issues. It was that or give into constantly being drained, fatigued and having a general lack of motivation. It took a little time and experimentation with some different products, but it was totally worth it! Today, I live an VERY active and fulfilled …

I’d like to share a true story from a family that I personally know. They have turned around the quality of life for a family member, that had been plagued with Alzheimer’s. Please read the below testimonial, written by the actual family involved.
Elsie’s Journey from Alzheimer’s
Our Mom had become bed-ridden, wore diapers and seldom recognized family or friends. We bathed, dressed, and fed her. She was diagnosed the beginning of the worst stage of Alzheimer’s.
Mom was prescribed Aricept and slept for those 7 months. …

Our skin is the largest organ on our body, but often times, the most neglected. What we eat and drink, as well as what we use on our body, can have effects to our health.
Your skin is also like a sponge. It can absorb the elements that it is exposed to. Sometimes, these elements can contain substances that may be toxic to humans and their future offspring. From home cleaning products to personal hygiene products, everything matters.
Last week, I had my first-ever facial. I’ve never really been interested in getting …

I’ve had a few conversations lately with folks that have been given misinformation about what it means to become a “Shaklee Member”. I wanted to take a few minutes to dispel those myths.
For those of you that aren’t familiar with Shaklee; yes, it’s a network marketing company. Just like Pampered Chef, Tupperware, Mary Kay, Avon, etc.
Shaklee has also been in continuous business for over 50 years, never had a product recall and is the #1 Natural Nutrition Company in the United States. Dr Shaklee always impressed upon his sales force, that this …

For those of us who defied the Surgeon General’s warning on the cigarette package for all those years…. We all know, how valid the warning was and still is.
And now, research has proven that many products that families are using in our homes around their children and family, can be detrimental to their health.
In a report from the NIEHS (National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences), the following statement pretty much sums up what all the research is saying:
Children are highly vulnerable to the negative health consequences associated with many environmental exposures. Children receive proportionately …

Surely it has something to do with the primal instincts of a man, to just continue to press on, no matter how much it hurts. Men really do deserve a lot of credit for that fortitude and drive, but it can often aid in the demise of their health and quality of life. With this mindset, men’s health, or maintenance of it, is often ignored.
When, my husband and I were first married, he believed in and only took Vitamin B12 and Vitamin C, to supplement his diet. He self-admittedly talked …

There probably isn’t a parent in the world, that wouldn’t give or do ANYTHING, to protect their child. Loving their children and protecting them from being physically or emotionally harmed by themselves or someone else, are instinctual traits for all parents. Yet, despite parents doing their very best, sometimes children are still exposed to harmful things.
Health hazards for children are everywhere. Yes, there are exposures outside, as well as inside of their homes, that can trigger common diseases and health conditions in a child. Even in utero, babies and children are often vulnerable to …

After almost one month, the daily reports coming in from the Deepwater Horizon oil spill disaster are still very discouraging. Everyone is disappointed and outraged that this even happened, as well as the lack of success in stopping the spill. Without a doubt, this crisis will stimulate some serious discussions and actions for ensuring environmental accountability.
But why does it always take a life/environment altering event to inspire action? Why can’t we be more proactive with environmental accountability, instead of just reacting after the crisis?
There are probably numerous “good” answers to those questions, but …
