When I was working farm and ranch appraisal some nights I just lay there thinking that, while I was happy with my work, I wanted to do something that would really make some kind of difference. By making many of the same changes you made one person can make a small difference, by helping inform others to do the same you can ultimately make a huge difference. I think, over time, we can make a bigger difference than we can imagine by paying it forward, your blog does a wonderful job of doing that in a fun way. My more recent venture into composting has really been an eye opener. I never realized how much 'stuff' I was sending to the landfill that, with so little effort, could be turned into gold in my back yard ;-) A thought provoking post Liz… and one I can really relate to as I have been down the same road very close to your same time line.
