Ban The Plastic Bag

By: Liz 23 August 2010

Most people have the opportunity to use and/or throw away plastic bags or single-use plastic, every single day. The problem is that they are doing just that, and the results have become detrimental to life on this planet.

Toxic impacts to wildlife, the environment and human health are readily increasing. That’s why there’s a Bill in California to ban plastic bags and single use plastic known as AB 1998.

Please watch the below video and then take the pledge on the Plastic Pollution Coalition’s website:

Don’t forget to take the pledge and help Ban the Bag. It’s important EVERYWHERE, not just in California.

I am starting a green working group, under the aegis of the Economic Development Committee, here in Wellfleet, on Cape Cod, to study shifting our town non-toxic. Part of that campaign will be to phase out plastic bags.

get rid of the bloody-ar$e thing! i see them everywhere.
hanging on trees, clinging on the over-pass of a chain-linked fence, flying in the sky after a microburst, floating in my pool..everywhere but where they should be!
sometimes in the lazy hands of a consumer!
I watched a grandma put BANANAS in a produce bag!? i asked her “may i ask you why you are using that?”
“why not” was her answer, as well as “i have to carry them out”
good heavens to hello-kitty! you don’t need a bag to carry out bananas that are attached to one-another.. ON top of that she would most undoubtedly not refuse a bigger bag to put that bag inside!!?? I tried to explain the GGP in 5 part of our oceans; she could care less as she greedily held her plastic to her breast.
DROP THE BAG and BAN IT!

Excellent. Good luck and please ask if you have questions. I don’t know it all, but may know where to go to get some answers. The internet is an excellent resource!
